Hymn – This is the day (R&S 377)

 This is the day,
this is the day that the Lord has made,
that the Lord has made;
we will rejoice,
we will rejoice and be glad in it,
and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day,
this is the day that the Lord has made.

This is the day,
this is the day when he rose again,
when he rose again;
we will rejoice,
we will rejoice and be glad in it,
and be glad in it.
This is the day when he rose again;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day,
this is the day when he rose again.

This is the day,
this is the day when the Spirit came,
when the Spirit came;
we will rejoice,
we will rejoice and be glad in it,
and be glad in it.
This is the day when the Spirit came;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day,
this is the day when the Spirit came.

Psalm 118: 24 adpt. Les Garret

Hymn—All my days
All my days I will sing
this song of gladness,
Give my praise to the
Fountain of delights;
For in my helplessness
You heard my cry,
And waves of mercy
poured down on my life.

I will trust in the cross
of my Redeemer,
I will sing of the blood
that never fails,
Of sins forgiven,
of conscience cleansed,
Of death defeated
and life without end.

Beautiful Saviour,
Wonderful Counsellor,
Clothed in majesty,
Lord of history,
You’re the Way,
the Truth, the Life.
Star of the Morning,
glorious in holiness,
You’re the Risen One,
heaven’s Champion,
And You reign,
You reign over all!

I long to be where
the praise is never-ending,
Yearn to dwell where
the glory never fades,
Where countless worshippers
will share one song,
And cries of ‘worthy’
will honour the Lamb!

Family Time

Hymn – When the sun is shining (Jesus is my best friend)
When the sun is shining and I go out to play
I’m so glad that Jesus walks with me all day

Jesus is my best friend
Jesus is my best friend
We will be together forever
and ever and ever and ever  (woah)

When I’m feeling lonely, when I start to cry
I hear Jesus whisper that he’s right by my side

Jesus       (clap, clap, clap)
I love you (clap, clap, clap)
Jesus       (clap, clap, clap)
I love you (clap, clap, clap)

Psalm 30
John 21 v1-19

Hymn – O God, you search me and you know me
O God, you search me and you know me.
All my thoughts lie open to your gaze.
When I walk or lie down, you are before me,
Ever the maker and keeper of my days.

O God, you search me and you know me.
All my thoughts lie open to your gaze.
When I walk or lie down, you are before me,
Ever the maker and keeper of my days.

Before a word is on my tongue, Lord,
you have known its meaning through and through.
You are with me beyond my understanding:
God of my present, my past and future too.

Although your Spirit is upon me,
still I search for shelter from your light.
There is nowhere on earth I can escape you:
Even the darkness is radiant in your sight.

For you created me and shaped me,
gave me life within my mother’s womb.
For the wonder of who I am, I praise you:
Safe in your hands, all creation is made new.

Sermon

Hymn – Take This Moment, Sign and Space
Take this moment, sign and space;
Take my friends around;
Here among us make the place
Where your love is found.

Take the time to call my name,
Take the time to mend
Who I am and what I’ve been,
All I’ve failed to tend.

Take the tiredness of my days,
Take my past regret,
Letting your forgiveness touch
All I can’t forget

Take the little child in me
Scared of growing old;
Help me here to find my worth
Made in Christ’s own mould.

Take my talents, take my skills,
Take what’s yet to be;
Let my life be yours,
and yet Let it still be me

Prayers for Others

Hymn – And can it be (R&S 366, Tune: Sagina)

And can it be that I should gain
an interest in the Saviour’s blood?
Died he for me, who caused his pain;
for me, who him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Tis mystery all: the Immortal dies!
Who can explore his strange design?
In vain the first-born seraph tries
to sound the depths of love divine.
Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
let angel-minds enquire no more.
Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
let angel-minds enquire no more.

He left his Father’s throne above
so free, so infinite his grace
emptied himself of all but love,
and bled for Adam’s helpless race.
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free;
for, O my God, it found out me! ‘
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free;
for, O my God, it found out me! ‘

Long my imprisoned spirit lay
fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
thine eye diffused a quickening ray
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light,
my chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in him, is mine!
Alive in him, my living Head,
and clothed in righteousness divine,
bold I approach the eternal throne,
and claim the crown, through Christ, my own.
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
and claim the crown, through Christ, my own.
