Church Life

Our Mission
Creating community beyond Sunday morning is an important part of what we do. There are activities and groups for all ages that meet during the week. Special services and outreach events also take place throughout the year.

The Forum
The Forum is the cafe area at the entrance to the church and is open for tea, coffee and refeshments on weekdays between 9am and 2pm. Drop in for a friendly face or some quiet space. Our Chapel is usually available for quiet reflection too.
There is a church volunteer on hand and the administrator and minister are usually available for those who have enquiries. Wifi is available.

House Groups
There are several house groups running at Woking URC. They meet regularly usually in members homes during the week or opportunities via Zoom, and are a good way to make friends within the church and make time for prayer and Bible study with others.
If you would like to find out more please contact the Church Secretary Keith Bradley by email secretary@wokingurc.org.uk

Knitting Fellowship
A new group that meet to socialise and have fellowship whilst knitting, We are a lively group of about 12 who meet every 2nd and 4th Mondays in the Forum at Church between 2-4 pm.
At present we knit for:
_ Newborn babies in Zambia to encourage Mums to give birth safely in hospital.
_ Refugees in Woking via The Lighthouse, mainly for children.
_ Premature babies in St Peter's Hospital.
_ Hearts for the Heart for Heart Project at Woking Hospice.
_ Crocheted fidgets for Dementia Care.
We also receive knitted items from outreach knitters.
The monies to buy wool is obtained by selling knitted hats for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal boxes which are gifted by church members.
We also receive donations of wool throughout the year, which is very much appreciated.
New members are very welcome, including beginners as we are happy to teach knitting skills.
