Prayers and The Lord’s Prayer

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.’
Jesus, we hear your good news.
We turn to you in repentance.

We hear how you were tempted in the wilderness without giving in.
Forgive us that too often we give in to temptation.
Jesus, we hear your good news.
We turn to you in repentance.

We hear how you were baptised in the Jordan by John.
Wash us. Cleanse us in the waters of your grace.
Jesus, we hear your good news.
We turn to you in repentance.

We hear how the Spirit descended on you.
Grant us your Spirit to empower and guide us for the journey ahead.
Jesus, we hear your good news.
We turn to you in repentance.

We hear how the Father spoke of you with approval.
May we hear the voice of our heavenly Father speaking of us with pleasure.
Jesus, we hear your good news.
We turn to you in repentance.
Amen.

February is Charities Month
A number of charities ‘lost out’ in 2020 as all could have expected to have received the proceeds from Church collections (money and goods) and events – Children with Special Needs Foundation, Eikon, Embrace the Middle East, Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, York Road Project and yourSanctuary.   There is now an opportunity for you to make an estimate of how much you might have given to them in one way or another during the year and to make a donation, if you are able.  There are three ways to donate – link on the Church website, directly to the Church bank account or a cheque sent to the Church Treasurer.
