Summer Camp

We have a long history of delivering an annual weeklong residential holiday for children and young people.  Woking URC Summer Camp is a fantastic week away for two age groups – for Children aged 8-11 and for Youth aged 11-17.  The event take place at different residential activity centres each year with indoor accommodation for the younger participants and often tents for the older participants.

This year’s camp will take place at ‘Thriftwood Activity Centre’, a Scout venue near Brentwood in Essex. We are very excited to use this site again.

The site offers all the normal variety of activities and facilities including high and low rope courses, climbing tower, abseiling, archery, cross bows, zip wire, kayaking and water rollers.

Our accommodation, a relatively new purpose-built block has a large hall for dining and games, bedrooms for up to six in each and the usual shower facilities. A generous outdoor area for activities, camping and our own campfire circle, all set among woods to explore!

In addition to all the normal activities to challenge the young people, we will also explore a theme each day through workshops, worship, and prayer to learn more about our Christian faith and how God loves us.

Cost of the camp includes everything for the week; accommodation, food, activities, and trips.

To book your place follow this link, please contact youth@wokingurc.org.uk or children@wokingurg.org.uk if you have any questions or require financial assistance to attend.

This is a great week for everyone, an active programme following a Bible based theme explored in a variety of ways to help participants to learn and understand more about our loving God.

Key elements of our week away include adventurous activities provided by the centres we visit such as climbing, abseiling, high-ropes courses, together with campfires, swimming, visits to local attractions and a lot more!
