Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and Child.
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of saving grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

Little Donkey, little Donkey
On the dusty road
Got to keep on plodding onward
With your precious load.
Been a long time little donkey
Through the winter’s night
Don’t give up now little donkey
Bethlehem’s in sight.

Ring out those bells tonight Bethlehem, Bethlehem
Follow that star tonight Bethlehem, Bethlehem

Little Donkey, little Donkey
had a heavy day.
Little donkey carry Mary
safely on her way.

Little Donkey Little Donkey
journey’s end is near
There are wise men waiting for a
sign to bring them here
Do not falter little donkey,
there’s a star ahead,
It will guide you little donkey,
to a cattle shed.

Ring out those bells….

christmas

See Him lying on a bed of straw
A draughty stable with an open door;
Mary cradling the babe she bore;
The Prince of glory is His name

O now carry me to Bethlehem,
To see the Lord of love again
Just as poor as was the stable then,
The Prince of glory when He came.

Star of silver sweep across the skies
Show where Jesus in the manger lies
Shepherds, swiftly from your stupor rise
To see the Saviour of the world

O now carry me …

Angels, sing again the song you sang,
Bring God’s glory to the heart of man;
Sing that Bethlehem’s little baby can
Be salvations to the soul.

O now  carry me…

Mine are riches, from Thy poverty
From Tine innocence, eternity
Mine, forgiveness by Thy death for me
Child of sorrow for my joy.

O now carry me…

Away in a manger,
no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus
lay down his sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky
looked down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus,
asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing,
the Baby wakes,
But little Lord Jesus,
no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus,
look down from the sky
And stay by my side
until morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay,
Close by me forever,
and love me, I pray!
Bless all the dear children
in Thy tender care
And fit us for heaven,
to Live with Thee there.

Prayer Time
Lord Jesus, we thank you that you were born into this world
Help us to love you and to serve you.
We thank you that you came to show us how much you love us.

Help us to journey to Bethlehem in our hearts.
May we know the peace of Christ child in our hearts and homes. Amen

The Christian Aid Christmas Appeal will remain open until 2nd January.  This year it is focussing on South Sudan and mums on the frontline of the
climate crisis who face impossible choices every day.  Your gifts this Christmas could help build more boreholes, provide seeds and farming tools, and give mums the chance to set up small businesses. With clean water, nutritious food and ways to earn money, mums won’t have to make such impossible choices.  How to give –

Many years ago (tune: Jingle Bells)
In a stable far away
Christ the Lord was born
what a joyful day
Singing filled the air,
glory shone around
Shepherds on the hillside
were astonished by the sound
Oh!

Have no fear! Have you heard?
Christ is born today.
Go and see him lying there
In a manger filled with hay. Hay!

Then the sky came alive
angels everywhere
Singing hymns of joyful praise
to the God who sent them there.

On to Bethlehem,
In a most exciting way.
Shepherds went to see
Christ the Lord that day
When they saw him there
They were filled with joy
On their knees they worshipped him
God’s special baby boy.
Oh!
