The Traidcraft Stall is open again today in the Forum with a selection of fairtrade goods and catalogues for orders.

If you would like to give to the Church this can be done in a variety of ways as described on the “Giving to the Church” page of the website. For one-off gifts, there is a direct link to the Dona online page from the “Give Online” button on the Home page, and the contactless device in the Forum is also available.  There will be a plate at the back of the Church for anyone wishing to make a cash donation or for Free-will offering envelopes.

Leading Worship elsewhere this morning.  The Revd David Netherwood is at Sefton Road URC, Morecambe this morning and Tockholes URC, Darwen this
afternoon.  Both are his former pastorates.

Forthcoming election of Elders.  The box for completed nomination forms is in the Forum along with spare forms for Members to use.  Last day for nominations is next Sunday, 19th September.

The Bible Course – 
first session, related to Sunday mornings, will be on
Thursday 23rd September at 7.45 pm via Zoom.  There will also be a session at 10am in the person at the Church on the same days as the evening sessions.  The in person sessions are primarily for parents of younger children who are otherwise engaged in the early evening. Books, price £5, may be requested by email – office@wokingurc.org.uk or purchased in the Forum after the Service, payment can be taken by cash or card.  Reserve your place for the course also by emailing the office.

The Prayer Handbook (£5) and URC Diary (pocket £7 or A5 size £10) may now be ordered from Joan Smyth.  The URC magazine Reform in paper (£29.50) or digital (£18) format – 10 issues (no increase in price) – easy payment outlined in the September Magazine and enquiries to Janet Collinson.(There are some copies of Prayer Handbooks from previous years in the Forum – please take them).

Getting ready for Christmas!  
A change of charity providing Christmas gift shoe boxes to Link to Hope means an earlier final date for bringing filled boxes – 31st October.  Leaflets describing what would be appreciated are available in the Forum.

The Church & Community Worker, David Tuson will be on annual leave from tomorrow until 20th September.  Please contact one of your pastoral Elders in his absence.

Covid Vaccination Hub at the Church.  This will begin on Monday 13th September.  If you would like to offer to be a volunteer please contact the NHS volunteer coordinator, Nikki Kane, on volunteers.urc@gmail.com or contact Tiny in the church office (premises@wokingurc.org.uk) for more information. The volunteer shifts will be 3.5 hours long and you can do as many or few as you like. There will also be opportunities to volunteer to serve refreshments so do ask Tiny about that too.
